WILTSHIRE rider Kitty King has been awarded the prestigious Event Horse Owners’ Association’s Award, given to a professional event rider who has had an outstanding campaign during the 2015 British Eventing season.
The award was presented by the EHOA’s chairman Cathy Butler, who said: “Kitty has had an incredible season, capped by her superb result at the FEI European Eventing Championships where she was the top British rider and was part of the silver medal-winning team riding Persimmon.”
King, based at Lower Stanton St Quintin, was the first rider to represent Great Britain at Pony, Junior, Young Riders and Senior level, and had a string of high profile successes this year including a win at Tattersalls CCI3* and third at Blenheim CCI3* with Ceylor L A N and second with Persimmon at Bramham CCI3*.
“I was absolutely delighted to win the award,” said King.
“I’ve been thrilled with my horses this year and have had my best season to date. It was lovely to go along to the awards dinner with some of my owners and celebrate. Actually winning the award was the icing on the cake.”
