PITA Robanakadavu scored a dramatic late brace of tries as Marlborough came from behind to win at Frome.
The hosts had some powerful runners in their side and one breakaway led to the opening converted try in the 14th minute.
The visitors tried to create chances of their own and had a number of good moves but final passes and silly penalties meant they were unable to get on the scoreboard.
One break by Jamie Liang deserved a score, as did a penetrating run by flanker Will Turner, but they were to no avail.
Full-back Nathan Morgan did kick a penalty from halfway to cut the gap to 7-3 at half-time.
Marlborough tried to step up their game after the interval but it was Frome who scored the next try.
The visitors then gave themselves a lifeline when they put together some good phases and captain Will Grant was able to dive over from a ruck. Morgan added the extras.
Once again, though, Frome’s powerful running led to another score as they moved 17-10 in front.
Marlborough finally started to apply some pressure in the closing stages and Amori Nailago took hold of the game and made some great line breaks. Centres Avenai Cakaunitavuki and Laing were always with him, making big territorial gains.
From one break, Robanakadavu raced over the line to cut the gap to two points.
With time running out, Marlborough got their hands on possession again and another great break by Nailago set up Robanakadavu to score his second to clinch an unlikely victory.
