NORTHSIDE Athletic got back to winning ways with a 4-0 win against Lydiard Millicent Juniors in Under 12 Division 2.

Northside went in at half-time 1-0 up thanks to Jack Lampard, who chipped the ball past the keeper.

Midway through the second half, Agon Rai, who was making his home debut, made himself room in the box and found the top corner, then minutes later played a lovely ball into the box for Nathan Goodenough to add a third.

Lampard won and scored a penalty to complete a fine team performance.

Under 13 Division 3

TWO superb goals from FC Abbey Meads Colts helped them to win a close game 2-1 against Highworth Juniors J.

Abbey Meads took the lead when they broke quickly after a good save from Josh Hyde. The ball was cleared to Fergus Dean, who hit an unstoppable shot from outside the area.

Highworth fought back but Daniel Wiltshire and Oliver Godsell both worked hard in the Meads defence and Todd Harper doubled their lead early in the second half with a shot from 20 yards that flew into the top corner. Highworth pulled a goal back late in the game.

Lydiard Youth defeated Abbey Meads 7-1. A slip by goalkeeper Jack Timbrell allowed Abbey Meads to take an early lead before Jon Raggett pulled Lydiard level.

A bullet header from Joseph Atcherley put Lydiard in front before goals from club captain Jacob Jackson, Sam Jones, Riccardo Rossi and Will Steckerl’s 10th and 11th goals of the season gave Lydiard the three points.

Under 17/18 Division 3

SEVENFIELDS United extended their unbeaten league run to six games with a 1-0 win at Croft Junior.

Both teams had limited chances due to the windy conditions but Sevenfields put the ball in to the net through Mark Siaw’s 25-yard free-kick. Daniel Marky put in a man-of-the-match display.

Under 13 League Cup

CROFT Red U13 secured their place in the semi-finals of the competition with a 16-1 victory over Wanborough Juniors.

The score was 1-1, with Tom Moore finding the net for Wanborough, until the last 10 minutes of the first half when Croft added three quick goals.

The second half was much more one-sided with Croft scoring a further 12 goals.

On target for Croft were William Fowler with six, while there were hat-tricks for Landon Golding and Kieron Sutton, two for Marshall Thompson and strikes by Tyger-J Hall and Louis Stone.

Will Webster slotted home a penalty with 10 minutes to go in Highworth Town Juniors T’s cup game against Wickham Wanderers to wrap up a 2-1 win.
