FOLLOWING their derby defeat against West Wilts, Swindon bounced back in Conference North with a 4-1 success at Yate.

Missing a host of players, including captain Luke Cejer, Swindon were the more creative of the two sides and took the lead thanks to a Tom Lentchner strike.

After the interval, vice-captain Tom Hunt struck twice before Tom Goldsmith and another from Lentchner put the visitors into a commanding 4-0 lead.

Swindon continued to pile on the pressure, but it was hosts who managed to find the target with a late consolation goal.

Swindon Ladies closed the gap at the top of the Premier 2A table to just two points as they defeated Cheltenham A 2-1.

The first half was a one-sided affair as Swindon dominated and regularly created chances.

Captain Gemma Scrase opened the scoring after three minutes when she followed up a penalty corner and forced the ball home.

Swindon’s second goal came from midfielder Rachel King after she dived full length to pounce on a loose ball and smash her shot into the net.

Swindon controlled the game with Linda Brouwers and Charlie George dominating in midfield and the forwards creating regular scoring opportunities.

Cheltenham scored with their first real attack of the match and saw the ball home with the slightest of deflections.

After the interval, Swindon were put under pressure by the hosts with Claire Tyas and Claire Sage being kept busy for long periods.

In the final minute, an umpiring decision saved Swindon as Cheltenham had originally put the ball in the net only for the official to change his decision to a penalty corner which was cleared.
