CALNE’S Beversbrook Sports Facility hosted the North Wilts Youth League Cup semi-finals at the weekend, where Croft Junior Red stormed into the Under 12 final with five goals in each half to defeat FC Chippenham Blue 10-0.

Charlie McCrae scored a hat-trick for Croft, Colby Kemper and substitute Lewis Bell scoring twice each. Adam King, Cameron Thomson and substitute Lewis Hutchison also netted.

Will Cook scored the only goal of the game as home side FC Calne booked their place at the expense of Shrivenham & Watchfield White.

Tom Ponting scored five times as Liden Community White booked their place in the Under 13 final as they thumped Wickham Wanderers 7-0, Kieran Northmore adding the other two.

Landon Golding scored twice for Croft Junior Red in the other semi-final, Kieran Sutton also on target in a 3-1 win over Royal Wootton Bassett Town Blue The Under 14 final will be between Highworth Town Juniors H and FC Chippenham Youth.

Highworth were 4-3 winners over Swindon Youth, Connor Robb netting a treble and Jack Paines also finding the net as Daniel Clare struck a hat-trick for Swindon.

Chippenham progressed 2-1 against Greenmeadow Youth, despite Rowan Doyle’s goal for Greenmeadow.

Swindon Supermarine L edged past Royal Wootton Bassett Town 1-0 in their Under 15 semi-final and will meet Swindon Rangers, who were 3-0 victors over Castle Combe Colts.

James Glastonbury was on target twice for Kings Stanley in their 3-0 victory over Croft Junior Red at Under 16 level, Danny King adding the other as Stanley booked a final date against Wroughton Youth, who were 6-2 winners over Royal Wootton Bassett Town Blue.

The Under 17/18 showpiece will see Shrivenham & Watchfield, 3-1 winners over Fairford Town Youth, take on Royal Wootton Bassett Town Blue, who were 4-1 victors against Ramsbury Juniors.

Daniel Smith bagged a hat-trick for Bassett with Ben Gerrish also on target, as Harry Hoareau hit Ramsbury’s reply.

Under 12 Division One

DESPITE a below-par display, Swindon Supermarine J secured a 3-2 win over Chippenham Town, Luke Legg scoring twice and Max Townsend also finding the net.

Under 12 Division Two

FC ABBEYMEADS Rangers U12’s travelled as underdogs to Stanley Park, Chippenham, to challenge unbeaten Chippenham White U12 and fell behind after five minutes. With goalkeeper Brandon Ricketts on form, Meads continued to battle and after a Ricketts’ save, Rogers Mubangizi found Max Brown, whose shot was parried allowing Jack Long to equalise.

With five minutes left, Ashley Marsh’s fine run set up Brown, who drove home the winning goal.

Under 13 Division

Three LYDIARD Youth got the better of Stratton at Kingsdown School with Will Steckerl getting the only goal of the game and his 17th of the season to keep Lydiard in touch with the leaders.
