LOSING to Poole Pirates on Monday was a tough way to kick off what is a busy week for us but you can’t win them all and you have got to park it now.

Jason Doyle had a bit of bad luck and Nick Morris got excluded and we were in some good situations where we could have got a couple more points.

Poole are a good side and their riders all go well around the Abbey Stadium, so it is one of those things.

If we go to Poole today and get a point, or even beat them, then it is a very good result and there are always positives in a negative.

Hopefully we can go their place this evening and do what Belle Vue did last week, and hopefully it won’t matter so much then.

Monday was an afternoon meeting, which is a little bit different to an evening meeting and the track was a bit drier as a result.

You don’t really change anything. People say they do, but you don’t. All you do is put your tinted goggles on instead of your clear ones.

All the track needs is a little bit more water. It was warm and pretty windy on Monday, so it was drying out quickly.

At the end of the day, it was there to be raced on and the other team rode it well and they were just better on the day.

I have four meetings here with Swindon and possibly one in Poland on Sunday, so it will be a busy week but there is no point sitting on your bum at home. When you are the other side of the world, you want to be riding speedway bikes.

I think all you do in a week like this is just make sure all your engines are ready to go so they don’t need servicing and make sure you have got plenty of clean underpants.

When you get a day off, it is a chance to plan so you are in a better position for when you have a busy week, and you just grab a bit of sleep when you can.

It was great to see such a big crowd supporting us on Monday and we hope they will all come back tomorrow evening against Leicester Lions and that it wasn’t just a one off.

It is good to ride in front of a big crowd and it is just a shame we lost and we couldn’t send them all home happy.
