SWINDON Town have switched four of their fixtures for the new campaign.

The club have announced this morning that they have changed the date of their trip to MK Dons on New Year's Eve and the visit of AFC Wimbledon on Saturday, April 15.

Luke Williams’ men will now make the trip to the stadium:MK on Friday, December 30, at 7.45pm, originally scheduled as a 3pm kick-off on December 31.

While, Wimbledon will now head to the County Ground Friday, April 14 - Good Friday - for a 3pm kick-off.

Williams said at the weekend that he hoped that the game with MK Dons would stay on New Year's Eve.

The County Ground boss told BBC Wiltshire: “I’m hoping that the fixture stays on the 31st as it gives us that little bit longer to recover.

“The season that has just finished, we played Gillingham on Boxing Day and then Burton Albion on the 28 away from home.

“They had had their Boxing Day game called off, so they had something like 12 days to recover, where we had only 48 hours, so that was tough.

“I think that gives us a better chance playing Boxing Day and 31st. Millwall and MK Dons are going to be two of the toughest teams that we play.”

Meanwhile, Town's EFL Cup first round match at Queens Park Rangers has been re-scheduled and will now be played on Wednesday, August 10, with kick-off at 7.45pm.

Town's home fixture with Bolton Wanderers on Saturday, October 8, will now kick-off at 1pm rather than the scheduled 3pm.
