AFTER eight seasons at the Swindon Wildcats, Sam Bullas has admitted there is no place he would rather be plying his trade.

The Nottingham-born forward, who also goes into schools to promote the club as the Link Centre side’s community development officer, first moved south six years ago.

Team-mate Lee Richardson is into his testimonial season at the club and with eight campaigns under his belt already, Bullas could well be having a testimonial of his own very soon.

“This is going to be my eighth season, which is a quite a while for someone who’s not born in Swindon, but it’s my second home. I love it here and I’m glad to be back,” said the 25-year-old.

“I take every season as it comes. With the job, it is a busy schedule but I’ve said it before - for me, I wouldn’t want to play anywhere else.

“I’d only move for family commitments and if there is none of those, then you won’t see me in any other colour.”

In his community role with the club, Bullas works heavily with young people in the surrounding areas to help promote the Wildcats and he told the Advertiser that it’s great to see so many young players in and around the squad.

“A few of the coaches and I run the learn to play and it is great to see the kids coming from the stuff we run at the schools.” added the former Nottingham Panther.

“It’s getting better and better in Swindon and hopefully it represents that in the table at the end of the year.

“We have a lot of young players who are going to work hard with a lot of hunger. We all started there, it’s healthy to have that competition, it makes everyone step up. No-one can be comfortable, it doesn’t matter who you are.

“If the young kids are playing really well and flying on all cylinders, then they can step up when the boys are tired.”
