BRANDON Ormonde-Ottewill and Ellis Iandolo will not feature when Swindon Town travel to Bolton Wanderers this weekend but the club will make a late decision on skipper Nathan Thompson.

Both, full-back Ormonde-Ottewill, who suffered an ankle injury against Fleetwood Town last month, and 19-year-old midfielder Iandolo, who last featured against Luton Town in the Checkatrade Trophy on December 6, have yet to return to full training.

Head coach Luke Williams will also be without a second left-sided operator when his team go to the Macron Stadium, with James Brophy serving a one-match ban following his two bookings against Shrewsbury Town last Saturday.

However, new signing Fankaty Dabo is capable of operating at left-back.

“Brandon’s still not able to come through training. He’s working very hard physically but can’t do the full session and the contact at the moment, and obviously, James Brophy’s ruled out,” said Williams.

“Ellis isn’t at training at the moment. It’s a tough time for any player but for the young boys, it’s difficult.

“The first few injuries are hard to get their head round. They feel fine but there’s something stopping them and Ellis just needs to continue his rehabilitation and get through that.”

After training on Friday morning, Swindon’s squad will travel to Lancashire ahead of their clash with Bolton, and Williams and his management team plan to give defender Thompson, who injured his foot against MK Dons on December 30 as a result of a problem with an orthotic support insole in his right boot, every chance to prove his fitness.

The Town coach said: “It’s difficult because it is taking longer than we anticipated and it is quite frustrating for Nathan.

“There’s still a training session tomorrow that Nathan can potentially come through fine and then we’ve got a decision to make.

“With Nathan fit, for sure there’s more options and we need to think what team will be strongest on the day.”

Williams also confirmed that he expects Yaser Kasim to be fit enough to start against Bolton, the midfielder coming off the bench against Shrewsbury as he returned from an ankle injury.
