PORT Vale have signed full-back Scott Tanser from League One rivals Rochdale until the end of the season.

The deal for 22-year-old Tanser continues a busy transfer window for the Valiants, who have already signed Chris Eagles following his release from Accrington Stanley, as well as loan duo Tyler Walker and Callum Gray from Championship sides Nottingham Forest and Derby County respectively.

STRIKER Luke Williams has also swapped one League One club for another after moving from Northampton Town to Scunthorpe United on loan.

The 23-year-old has only started one league match this term because of injury but will remain at Glanford Park until the end of the season.

CHAMPIONSHIP leaders Brighton have allowed defender Rob Hunt to join Oldham Athletic on loan.

Seagulls boss Chris Hughton stated it was his intention to send the 21-year-old full-back out on a temporary basis when he agreed a new deal at the Amex Stadium back in October.

Hunt will remain at Boundary Park until the end of the season as Oldham look to climb out of the relegation zone.

ANOTHER side struggling at the wrong end of the table, Shrewsbury Town, have continued their January recruitment drive by snapping up a sixth new player.

Striker Stephen Humphrys, 19, will spend the second half of the season on loan at Greenhous Meadow from Fulham in the Championship.

PETERBOROUGH United manager Grant McCann has revealed that he slept at the club’s training ground in the wake of their disappointing defeat away at Oldham Athletic on Tuesday.

The Posh were beaten 2-0 by the relegation threatened Latics, with McCann’s men also thumped 5-1 by another side horribly out of form, Bury, 10 days previously.

McCann said: “I was just thinking about the next day and how to get the players to perform on Saturday.”

BOTTOM side Coventry City have been drawn against League Two promotion hopefuls Wycombe Wanderers in the semi-finals of the Checkatrade Trophy.

Oxford United will travel to either Luton Town or Yeovil Town if they overcome Bradford City in their quarter-final.
