SWINDON Shock player-coach David Colclough can’t quite believe how things have fallen for his side as they travel to Berkshire to take on the Reading Rockets 2nd today.

Previous league leaders RCT Gladiators have lost their last two games, leaving Shock level on points with Cardiff City at the top of National League Division Four.

With four games left of the season and Cardiff still to play, the New College-based side are more than capable of sealing promotion if they win the remainder of their fixtures.

The league season draws to a close on Saturday, March 14, and Colclough is unnerved by how comfortable he feels about the remainder of the season.

“I like the feeling but I also hate it at the same time, because I keep wondering if it is going too well too soon, because there are still four games left,” said Colclough.

“We have beaten all four of these teams that we have left, so we are in a good position because we know we can beat them. We are just focussing on our strengths and weaknesses, and fixing those things as we go into the game.”

This weekend, Shock hit the road to face fifth-placed Reading , who have won seven and lost seven this campaign.

Despite their league position, Colclough refuses to take them lightly after citing the Shock's defeat to Woking Blackhawks as a reason not to be complacent.

“Reading aren’t the strongest side but I don’t want to take any chances again. We learned our lesson with Woking,” added Colclough.

“We can’t do that against any team. We are ready and we have a full squad available for the game as well.

“It’s a huge boost because having our big man Matt North and our point guard Antonio Wilburn back has made the world of difference.

“You can see there is a bit more leadership now and there is a presence in the middle with the big man being consistent.

“Teams can’t just duck it down low and take advantage of us because we now have size as well.”
