CHIPPENHAM Park manager Brett Partner was disappointed with the officials after his side lost 2-0 at home to Hengrove Athletic on last night.

The hosts were left with nine men after Garry Lock saw red in the first half, before Ben Pring was dismissed for a second yellow card on the hour mark.

The defeat brought an end to Park’s 11-match unbeaten run and manager Partner was upset at the way the game turned out.

“It was a bit of a joke to be fair. The referee has pretty much killed the game. He’s given three red cards and a load of yellows too," said Partner.

“It was a really good game up until the sending off. But credit to our boys, they played really well for the whole game, even when we went down to nine men.

“If they were the better team and they won fair and square I can take it. But in these circumstances it is just hard to take.

“It sounds a bit bitter me complaining about a referee and I never normally do it because they have such a hard job as it is.

“But when you have one who is booking players just for talking to him, something isn’t quite right. At the end of the day we have lost and we need to go again on Saturday.”

On Saturday, Pring’s hat-trick against his former club Corsham Town proved enough to hand Park a 3-1 win at Southbank. Dan Heavey replied for the struggling hosts.

Elsewhere at the weekend, Malmesbury Victoria made it two wins on the spin with a 2-0 triumph over Portishead Town.

Kevin Bridgeman’s side took the lead midway through the first half when Jon Bazley put the hosts in the driving seat.

They carried that advantage into the interval before Sam Parker sealed the win in the second half.

Calne Town were unable to build on the point they had secured during the week as they lost 6-0 away to Hengrove Athletic.

Two minutes of madness meant Devizes came away empty handed from their home derby with Westbury United.

Jamie Jordan made the most of his chances as his quick-fire double just after the hour mark earned his side their sixth win in a row.
