ROYAL Wootton Bassett Town U14 Blues secured their second North Wilts League Cup crown in three seasons after a resounding 5-0 final victory against Croft Junior Yellow at the County Ground on Saturday.

Two goals from Daniel Warre put the Blues in a commanding half-time position, and second-half strikes from Jack Langcaster, Freddie Merrett and Jed Phillips sealed victory following a high-quality performance.

Swindon Rangers denied FC Chippenham Youth the league and cup double as they landed the U16 trophy after a victory on penalties.

Rangers had finished third behind the champions in the league and roared into a two-goal advantage in the final before a Chippenham comeback ensured it went to spot-kicks.

Charlie McCuish fired home the opening goal with under a quarter-of-an-hour gone and Sean Wilkinson added a second just before the half-hour mark.

Chippenham gave themselves a lifeline as Zach Soonsup-Bell headed home before Lewis Morrissey did likewise with minutes remaining to level the scores.

Unable to be separated in extra time, Rangers took the advantage in the shoot-out when keeper Nathan Townsend saved from Chippenham’s Oscar Webster.

Taylor Burt, McCuish and Clint Lomax all scored for Rangers, as did Caine Bradbury and Kyle Pogue-Elms for Chippenham.

But Andrew Keightly’s miss allowed Ty Mifsud to step up an clinch the trophy for Rangers.

Edrin Asante scored four times as Northside clinched the U15 trophy and a league and cup double with an 8-1 triumph over AFC Newbury.

Kain Chivers, Connor Robb, Joseph Cameron and Hassan Gedi were also on target for the winners.

Oliver Paul scored a penalty for Newbury.

FC Abbey Meads Colts lifted the U18 prize as they secured a 4-2 victory over Chiseldon U17.

Matthew Moynihan gave Chiseldon the lead, but Jordan Lea and Thomas Miller netted for Meads before Moynihan’s second restored parity.

Lea’s second put Meads back in front after the break and Kyle Chambers sealed it.
