ROYAL Wootton Bassett Town will be looking to make it a nap hand this evening when they make the trip to Tuffley Rovers in the Hellenic League Premier Division.

Rich Hunter’s men made it four wins in a row on Saturday when beating Highmoor Ibis and the Bassett chief is keen to keep it going at Glevum Park.

However, Hunter knows that his side must be able to handle the physicality of Mark Pritchett’s side, who include ex-Southampton, Mansfield Town and Chesterfield striker Shayne Bradley among their ranks.

“Tuffley are always a physical side, they are normally quite direct and look to use the pace of their wide men,” Hunter said. “That is how they have been for the past two seasons and I’m expecting more of the same this time.

“We were missing three or four players at the weekend and they all are available on Tuesday and that is massive because having our best XI out there recently is why we are on this run.”

While looking to keep Tuffley’s physical approach in check, Hunter is hoping that his side’s recent run will help them in Gloucester.

“We are playing full of confidence at the moment and we will approach the game in a confident manner,” the Bassett chief said.

“We should have more than enough quality to win the game and that is what I am looking for – another three points.”

With Bassett in action this evening, Highworth Town will be looking to make it nine wins from nine Premier Division matches on Wednesday night when they make the trip to Gloucester to face Longlevens.

Jeff Roberts’ side sit in second place in the table having won all eight of their previous league matches – including Saturday’s 6-2 success at Ascot United, where Kieran Gleed netted a hat-trick.

Jody Bevan will be hoping that he can record his first win as Fairford Town manager on Wednesday when they host Brimscombe and Thrupp at Cinder Lane.
