ONE TO WATCH: Jorge Grant

BANBURY-BORN Grant spent two years in Nottingham Forest’s academy before joining the first-team squad.

After making his professional debut in August 2014, he started Forest’s 2014-15 League Cup game at Spurs, where he scored his first goal in professional football.

Joining city rivals County on loan for the remainder of last season he scored a 93rd-minute equaliser in a 2–2 draw at home to Exeter City and netted six goals in 17 games to help the club avoid relegation last term.

Grant signed a three-year deal with Forest in June and re-signed on loan with County. With 16 goals already this season, the midfielder is living up to manager Kevin Nolan’s description as a player with “brilliant technical ability who will add creativity and flair.”

KEY BATTLE: Olly Lancashire v Lewis Alessandra

A GRADUATE of Oldham Athletic’s academy, Alessandra has amassed almost 350 career appearances since making his debut in 2007, the forward joining County for an undisclosed fee from Hartlepool United in May 2017.

The Manchester-born frontman scored 25 goals across two seasons for Plymouth Argyle, including 13 in the 2014-15 campaign as the Pilgrims made the League Two play-offs.

Alessandra netted twice as County defeated home side Morecambe 4-1 on Boxing Day and is sure to provide a stiff test for Town’s defence, marshalled by Lancashire, which shipped five on the same afternoon at home to Luton.
