SWINDON Supermarine boss Lee Spalding has his fingers crossed as they prepare to welcome Slimbridge to the Webbswood in Southern League West this evening.

Saturday’s snowy conditions postponed Marine’s away clash with Totton and Spalding is hoping to avoid a repeat performance tonight.

With volunteers clearing the remainder of the snow off the pitch on Monday, the Marine chief is hopeful the game will go ahead.

“The forecast is rain so I really don’t know where we are at,” said Spalding.

“The problem is, we have had all that snow and it needs to go somewhere.

“It’s hard to get the planning right at the moment.

“It’s difficult because you get the momentum of a win and then you get postponements.”

Marine are without Josh Parsons, Joe Shepherd, Ryan Campbell, Ryan Morgan and Harrison Bennett, due to injury.
