SWINDON Supermarine produced an emphatic performance to dispatch Slimbridge 8-0 at home.

A superb first half saw Lee Spalding's troops storm into an early lead as Joe Selman lashed home in the 16th minute.

Bradley Gray then joined proceedings with a quick-fire double to had Marine a 3-0 lead at the break.

It was a similar story in the second half as Marine continued to impress.

Gray bagged his third of the night, two minutes after the restart before Connor Thompson made it five.

Gray popped up with a sixth shortly after as Supermarine continued to dominate.

The rout wasn't complete as skipper Zak Westlake added his name to the score sheet before Selman's late strike.

Supermarine have also announced the new dates for their fixtures with AFC Totton and Yate Town, the former will now take place on Tuesday, March 20, while the latter will take place a week later.

Both games kick-off at 7.45.

Elsewhere, in the Hellenic League Premier Division, Jeff Roberts will hope to guide his Highworth Town to the next round of the Supplementary Cup, as his team face Shortwood United Reserves tomorrow night.

RUGBY, cricket and football will be represented in the shape of guest speakers Nick Wood, Mark Alleyne and Paul Bodin at a special charity fundraiser at Fairford Town Football Club next week.

All the money raised from the evening on Friday, March 16 will go towards the Movember Foundation, a global charity committed to men living happier, healthier and longer lives.

The evening has been organised by Chris Tanner, who is running the London Marathon on Sunday, April 22 to raise funds for the same cause.

Tanner, who is also press officer for Fairford Town Football Club, is hoping to sell 80 tickets for the event which will start at 7.30pm.

Tickets are priced at £20, including food. To book, call 07815 579784.

The Movember Foundation is a cause close to Tanner’s heart, his father Mike, who is president of Fairford Town Football Club, being diagnosed with prostate cancer a couple of years ago.

Meanwhile Fairford are looking for a new club secretary, for an immediate start, and are inviting applications from persons with experience in football.

Expenses will be available. Email chairman Stuart Pike at spikesdiner@outlook.com.
