DAVID Howell concluded a satisfactory week at the Open De Espana with a three-under-par round of 69 in Madrid today.
The Swindon player had carded a second level-par round of 72 on Saturday, ending his hopes of making any impact towards the top end of the leaderboard, but delivered four birdies and just one dropped shot as he ended his tournament in Madrid.
The two-time Ryder Cup winner was steady in the opening nine holes, moving under par for the day with a birdie at the long fifth.
He commenced his turn for home by birdieing the 10th for the third successive day and added a birdie two at the short par four 14th for good measure.
The sole blip arrived at the short 17th, but he immediately made amends by birdieing his final hole.
