SWINDON Robins’ asset Jason Doyle was forced to settle for sixth-place in the Czech Grand Prix after scoring nine points in Prague’s Markeeta Stadium.
The Australian, who returns to the Abbey Stadium for the first time since leaving last year, sits in 10th spot in the overall leader board after two rounds.
The world champion was first out in heat four, where he was third to cross the line behind Maciej Janowski and Greg Hancock.
In his second ride, it was a repeat performance from the former Robins skipper as Tai Woffinden and Bartosz Zmarzlik were able to get in front of Doyle.
Things improved as the meeting wore on. Doyle clinched second-place in heat 10, Matej Zagar claimed victory as Doyle completed three out of his six rides.
Heat 16 marked a heat win for the 32-year-old, who brings his Somerset Rebels side to Swindon tomorrow evening, as he held off Nicki Pederson and compatriot Chris Holder.
A heat later Doyle finished third in the Czech Republic, which is where he also finished in the opening semi-final, sparking the end of his evening.
