WARMINSTER’S winning start to the WEPL Wiltshire season entered its seventh week after they dispatched Devizes away from home.

Pete Hickerton’s troops lost the toss and were put in, something they hadn’t done frequently this season due to their formidable bowling.

However, this time around they were just as potent with the bat, as they knocked together a total of 205, Bradley Parry with 88.

Yet again, Warminster were a force with the ball as they rattled through the hosts for 122, handing them an 83-run win.

The win stretches the club’s winning start to seven games, which has also seen them extend their lead at the top-of-the-table to 15 points over nearest rivals Royal Wootton Bassett.

In Hickerton’s absence, Jack Berrisford took the captaincy and said: “It’s going really well and it was another good win. I think what made it particularly pleasing was the fact we lost a couple of key players.

“To win as decisively as we did was good because we adapted the squad for the first time.

“We also had the worst conditions, loss the toss and we had a few rain breaks which is always difficult.

“To win with the bat really showed that we have a few strings to our bow.”
