DEVIZES Canoe Club members were out in force internationally over last weekend.

Flossie Ball competed at the French National Marathon Championships in Bordeaux, coming second in K1 and K2 with partner Rebecca Swift, from Wey Canoe Club.

The club had 28 paddlers at Sunday's Gloucester Hasler race on Sunday - the first south west region Hasler race of the 2019 season.

There were first places for Will Scaplehorn and Philippe Ehrnrooth (U12 Lightning), as well as Beatrix Fooks (promotion from Division Nine K1 to Division Eight), Charlie Allen (double promotion to Division Six from Division Eight K1), and Adam McCormick and Jon Langton (Division Seven K2).

Second places went to Andrew Park (promotion from Division Nine K1 to Division Eight), William and Octavius Fooks (Division Nine K2), Kevin Crabb and James Cleaver (Division Five K2) and Dan Jones (Division Three K1).

Juliet Fooks and Pete Clarke were third in Division Five K2 and Carraig Green in Division Seven K1 and Dan Colby fifth in Division Six K1

Devizes also had members in Ireland to take part in the Liffey Descent race, Steven Bush and Mark Ball completing in two hours 39 minutes and Stuart Bell and Andy Elworthy two hours and 52 minutes.
