Sidelined Mark Badman believes Chippenham Town have their best ever chance of promotion as they head into the final ten games.

The midfielder is out after a sinus operation last week and won't be available until the middle of March but he still confident, ahead of tomorrow's home clash with Rugby, he and his teammates will clinch promotion.

"Nerves play a part but we have got a good enough squad to get through them and we have got an experienced management team," he said.

"They will show the lads what to do and I believe it's the best chance we've ever had and we have to grab it."

The 28-year-old will also be using previous play-off woe to inspire him after defeats to Bedford and Hednesford Town during his time at Hardenhuish Park.

"We've been disappointed every time but hopefully this year will be different," he said.

"The most disappointing one was against Hednesford and I can take a lot of experience from that. It will inspire me to try harder."

But, for now, the former Bath City man will have to watch on as the Bluebirds battle for the top five, after his sinus operation.

"We always seem to be saying it, I've had loads of bad luck," he joked.

"It is frustrating because it is going to keep me out but I should be able to starting running on Tuesday.

"I've been waiting to have it done for a year, although its come at a bad time, but I didn't want to wait another year."

Along with Badman, manager Adie Mings will miss David Pratt, Tom Etheridge and Aaron Cornwall, who are suspended for the visit of Rugby.

Defender Ross Adams trained last night and should be fit after two weeks out with a knee injury and striker Jake Reid could return to the squad after his loan at Mangotsfield ended.
