Warren completes winning double

8:13am Sunday 27th July 2008

TRAMPOLINING: Members of the Evolution trampoline club travelled to the National Indoor arena for the culmination of a season's hard work at the national finals.

The squad with 19 entrants travelled on the Friday to prepare for the competition ahead.

First to go on the trampoline were Maria Bush, Beckie Kingsnorth, Georgia Clements and Erin Slater.

All performed great routines, with Georgia and Erin both qualifying to national C grade next year.

Pete Cracknell followed the girls with a bad first round but a strong second round. Finally on the trampoline was Adam Smith, who performed a season's best to come ninth in the country in a tough group.

In the double mini-tramp event the under 15 girls worked really hard. Becca Tamin, Rhianna Andrew and Pip Higgs proved too strong a force for the other teams and took the gold by a convincing margin.

Both Pip and Becca made the finals on the Sunday and came fifth and fourth respectively.

The over 15 girls also did well, with Fiona Easton, Izzie Earl Higgs, Ami Woodruff and Caitlin Skeates taking the bronze medal in the team event.

The national C for over 15 boys also proved to be exciting event. Warren Moreland, who was defending his title from last year, did some great passes to retain his title.

In the junior elite event Adam Smith and Alex Bedford worked really hard to make it to the final day. Two solid passes put them both in medal positions, with Alex taking the bronze and Adam the silver medal.

In the senior event Pete Cracknell performed under great pressure. An error in the final round meant that he took eighth place in the senior men's event.

Head coach Sarah Hunt said: "We are as always proud of all of the children who competed for us. We were proud that they were part of our club and they represented us and themselves admirably. We now look forward to a new season."

The club are also looking for new coaches to expand their already strong team.

Anyone interested in helping out or experienced trampoline coaches are asked to contact Sarah Hunt on 07877 533999.

The Evolution trampoline club caters for all ages and abilities.
