Honours even in county match

5:32am Sunday 17th August 2008

Frome Golf Club hosted a match between Somerset and Wiltshire under 14s, and the result could not have been any closer with the match being tied six games all.

The boys were very lucky with the weather. Some rain started to fall as the last game came in off the course despite the forecast offering heavy rain and possible thunderstorms.

The youngsters played four fourball matches over nine holes in the morning and that was followed by eight singles matches over 18 holes in the afternoon.

There was plenty of talent on display with the highest handicap of the day being 11.
