THE Plaister Autos Wiltshire League kicked off the new season at the weekend with Ben Howe, boss of Premier Division side Bromham, delighted with his side's 8-1 victory over Pewsey Vale.
He said: "It was just the start we needed, we have added a few new players to the squad and we are looking to improve on last season's third spot and go for the title."
Steve Bryant got his side underway by netting the first in under ten seconds, chipping the visitors keeper from the kick off.
Defender Darren Jones completed his hat-trick, last season's top marksman Tom Pang adding two more and new signing Dan Dominy and Jamie Young also getting on the score sheet.
Marlborough Town got out of jail at home to Devizes Town, scoring twice in the last four minutes to share the points in a 2-2 draw.
Steve Dean pulled a goal back from the penalty spot and Arran Maximan scrambled the ball over the line for an equaliser in the last minute.
Earlier the visitors had looked the likely winners, looking to have the edge over the home side with goals from Simon Drewitt and Mark Wallen.
Calne Town also got off to a good start defeating visitors Shrewton United 4-0 with a good all round performance.
John O'Meara gave the home side the lead after six minutes following up on a shot from Mark Dolman that had hit the woodwork.
Steve Healey provided the pass for Dolman to add a second to give Calne a healthy looking lead at the break.
Soon after the restart Steve Healey added a third from the penalty spot and Dolman wrapped up the scoring, shrugging aside several tackles before tucking the ball home.
Last season's champions Wroughton were beaten 2-0 at Melksham but made the home side pull out all the stops for their three points.
Newcomers to the league Trowbridge Town Reserves were beaten 3-2 by New College in a close contest at South Marston.
The newcomers were soon a goal up when Steve Pleass put through his own goal but strikes by Manny Rwanda and Dominic Gregorace gave the College an interval lead.
Midway through the second half Dan Wilson knocked the ball over the line from a corner for a third and the luckless Steve Pleass then gave away a penalty to ensure a few anxious last minutes for his side.
Last season's Premier section side Aldbourne folded with many of the players following manager Stef Kucynski to Purton.
The new-look team started the new season well with a 2-1 win over Bradford Town after the visitors had taken an early lead.
