Jerry Brown from Marlborough competed in the first race meeting of the season at Brands Hatch on Sunday.

Brown was driving his BMW 318i car in the production BMW championship which visits a lot of circuits this season including Castle Combe in May.

Racing consisted of a qualifying session with two races.

There were twenty five cars in Brown's qualifying session and he posted a time of 1.00.788 seconds which would put him in fifteenth position on the grid for his first race later in the day.

This time represented an average speed of just over 70mph on the Indy circuit at Brands Hatch which measures 1.19 miles in length.

The races would be held over a duration of 15 minutes and the sun was still shining when Jerry came out for his first race.

All of the cars made it safely through the famous paddock hill bend and Jerry was well in the leading pack of cars.

The pace of the race was fast and furious and Brown was driving well and keeping out of trouble and as the race ended he had taken the chequered flag in 11th place out of the 31 cars in the race.

Brown's last race was held as the last race of the day and was in late afternoon.

There were 30 cars which started this race which was another fast action packed race.

Brown came over the finishing line in 18th place over all for more valuable championship points.

Brown has 13 championship points in the bag and is lying in 21st place in the championship out of 51 registered drivers.

The next rounds of the championship are at Donington Park in a few weeks time.
