Horse Racing: A Band of Gold at Brighton?

RACING takes place at extreme ends of the country tomorrow with Brighton hosting a six-race card for southern racegoers and Ayr going one better with a seven race card for Scottish fans.

The Brighton fixture gets underway with a two-year-old Maiden Stakes over six furlongs that could go to the Paul Cole-trained Velvet Band ridden by Martin Dwyer.

Local jockey George Baker has struck up a good relationship with the Andy Haynes-trained Seneschal and, despite top weight, the duo could win the handicap.

Taffy Salaman’s Monashee Rock is down to carry top weight in the one mile handicap ridden by William Buick and in the final race on the card Choisharp could be a winner for jockey Seb Sanders.

Jumping fans are catered for with a meeting at Market Rasen.
