SWINDON SUNDAY LEAGUE: It's an easy Job

CUP competitions took centre stage in the Swindon Sunday League programme but the Knockout Cup produced few shocks.

Jobs In Swindon hit nine against a below-par West Swindon side with hat-tricks from Johnny Cave-Ayland and Jamie Bradfield, two from Martin Worthington and a single from Richie Carter.

The Manor put seven past luckless JKJ FC with trebles from Danny Hyde and Mark Arnold and two from Declan King.

There were also wins for KMLC Dolphin, 4-2, against Nine Elms, AFC Gas, 3-2, over Penhill, and Wanborough, 3-0, against Westbrook.

In the Chairman’s Trophy, Cricklade were 6-0 winners against Running Horse with four from Steve Avenall and one each from Matt Richard and Gerry Wright on his 44th birthday.

Rodborne went through 4-0 against Phoenix Knights with strikes from Ashley Taylor, Mike Leonard, Gareth Walton, and Nathan Gambling.

Patheon overcame Coleview 1-0 and Dorcan Old Boys put 11 past Patriot Arms in the Bunny Uzzell Trophy. Cats Solutions progressed with a 4-2 win over FC Parks thanks to a brace from James McCarthey and one from James Lally and Ben Vines.

There were also wins for Bakers Arms, 2-1, against Division One GW Nalgo and AFC Piratez, 5-3, against Stratton Saints, whose replies came from Paul McDonald, Carl Wyatt and Anthony Hitchman.

In the league, Shield Dagger moved to second in Division Two with a 4-0 win over Dynamo Ashton.

In Division Three, Inter Sandgate took over second spot with a 3-1 away win against Intermach, with two from Aiden Doyle and one from Dean Wootton in Division Four.

Strikes from Jamie Williams (2) and Bryn Keech gave DBS a 3-2 win against Carters Rest.

Fox & Hounds had a comfortable 4-0 win over County Ground.

In Division Five, Halcrow consolidated second spot with a 4-1 win against Boundary House.

AFC Royston moved out of the bottom three with a 5-4 win against the Lamb. Revolutions and Jesters fought out a 4-4 draw.

In Division Six, Roughmoor have opened up a seven-point lead at the top after their 5-1 win against Rodbourne Real.

Thamesdown stayed second with a 8-3 drubbing of Alan Hawkins.

In Division Seven, Old Nick jumped out of the bottom two with a 2-1 success against Trak Employment.

In the Wilts Sunday Cup, Greyhound, Blyskawica and Eldene Social all progressed to the semi-finals.
