Bournemouth got the better of Chippenham in the semi-final of the Dorset & Wilts Cup at Allington Field.
But the result does not tell the full story of a hard-fought 80 minutes.
Chippenham were dangerous in attack and tenacious in defence, however in the end the superior strength and fitness of Bournemouth eventually decided the outcome.
Chippenham took the lead on eight minutes with the evergreen Rupert Crockett back from injury jinking his way to the line to touch down under the posts to get Chippenham on the scoreboard.
Dom Riccio kicked the conversion to put Chippenham 7-0 up.
Bournemouth hit back on 14 minutes to make the score 7-7 but Dom Riccio put Chippenham back in front with a penalty kick to make the score 10-7.
Bournemouth then moved up a gear to put pressure on the Chippenham side to score a further two tries before half time, to put them 17-10 up.
Chippenham hit back after the break when, after clever play from Rhidian McGuire, he went over in the corner.
Dom Riccio failed with the conversion but Chippenham were back in the game at 15-17.
However as in previous matches Chippenham went to sleep to allow Bournemouth to score two decisive tries, leaving the score 25-15.
Bournemouth continued to dominate the second half and hit the 30-point mark on 65 minutes with a try from the back row.
Chippenham kept playing and scored a good try when Jon Squire score and Dom Riccio kicked the conversion to make it 22-32.
With Chippenham tiring Bournemouth scored another eight points to make the game safe.
