TOOLSTATION LEAGUE PREMIER DIVISION: Nash's rocket lights up Southbank

9:00am Friday 12th March 2010

GEORGE Nash scored one of the greatest goals ever seen at Corsham Town on Saturday, according to his manager and the Southbank faithful.

The young midfielder netted with a spectacular long-range volley as Corsham ran out 3-1 winners over Bitton.

“It was from about 40 yards and it was a great strike,” said Town manager Mel Gingell.

“People at the ground said it was the best goal they’d ever seen at Corsham.”

Booker Woodford and Danny Baker also scored in the win.

The result wasn’t as good for Corsham on Tuesday night as they were beaten 2-0 at league leaders Bideford.

“They were the best side I’ve seen in this league,” said Gingell.

“They had lads on loan form Torquay United whilst ours come from Castle Combe and Box, which says it all.”

Gingell revealed that he is confident of tying up a deal for a former Salisbury City strike-partner of centre-forward Adam Heath.
