SWINDON SUNDAY LEAGUE: Coleview batter Fox & Hounds


THE pick of the games in the Swindon Sunday League this weekend came in Division Four, as first-placed Coleview tore Fox & Hounds apart 22-0.

Jason Lewis smashed in five goals, while John Litten hit four and Colin Yates, Matt Horsell and Glen Morris all bagged hat-tricks.

Frank Cullen, Steve New, Rob Quick and Glenn Horsell completed the scoring for rampant Coleview.

Second-placed Cats Solutions triumphed 3-2 at AFC Carters Rest, to keep the pressure on the leaders.

James McCarthy, Douglas Rankin and Andy Gardiner scored for Cats.

Elsewhere, Liam Sutton, Frazer Munro, Euan Munro and Dwayne Morgan were amongst the goals as DBS saw off Nationwide 4-2.

Bear Marlborough thumped basement side AFC County Ground 6-0, while Dorcan Old Boys were similarly dominant in their 4-0 victory over Deers Leap.

Pinehurst Community’s 4-2 win at Regent completed the results from Division Four.

The basement side in Division One, AFC Cricklade, beat SN6 New Inn 2-1 in the Chairman’s Trophy as Steve Avenall and Sam Reason both got on the scoresheet.

The Manor romped into the next round of the Knockout Cup after beating AFC Gas 5-0.

In Division One action, second-placed Greyhound suffered a surprise 2-1 defeat to The Arkell’s GW, while Blyskawica won 3-1 at KMLC Dolphin, as Jeremy Hope (2) and Chris Mills netted.

The Dolphin went top of Division Two after beating The Five Bells 2-1, while Wanborough hammered Dynamo Ashton 10-2 .

JobsinSwindon.com triumphed 4-2 over New Century WMC in the Knockout Cup as Alex Harper (3) and Martin Worthington found the net.

There was a crushing victory for league leaders Eldene Social Club in Division Three as they despatched Running Horse 10-3.

Dave Rendle (3) Stuart Bellinger (3) Jamie McLaughlin, Ashley Gooch and Lee Hurd were among the Eldene scorers Rodbourne also had an emphatic result, seeing off AA Drainaway 6-1. Aaron Valters (2), Ashley Taylor, Mike Lenard, Gareth Walton and own goal made up the scorers.

Village Inn edged out Intermach Wheatsheaf with Tom Chasten and two own goals being Village Inn’s scorers. Glyn Picton and Pete Hambridge scored for Intermach.

Elsewhere, CK Scaffolds beat LPA Campbell James 5-2.

In Division Five, summit side Westbrook defeated West Swindon Wanderers 4-2.

Ashley Stevens, Craig Roberts and James Joyce netted for Westbrook while Lee Robins and John Driver scored for West Swindon.

Second-placed Halcrow lost 2-1 at Boundary House with the goals coming courtesy of Luke Wright and Tom Brown.

Meanwhile, Smart Movers were easy 4-1 winners over FC Jesters.

Christian Bailey found the net for Southgate and Ben Gould scored for Pheonex Knights as the teams shared the spoils with a 1-1 draw in Division Six.

Thamesdown continued their pursuit of league leaders Roughmoor Rangers with a 3-2 win at home to Patheon.

Stratton Reform beat Red Lion 4-2 while Cjit Computers won 3-0 against Stratton Saints and FC Alan Hawkins drew 2-2 with AC Swindon.

In Division Seven, leaders FC Parks drew 3-3 with New Inn while Nationwide Pavilion crushed Patriot Arms 7-4.

The Old Nick romped past Eldene 5-0, while Bakers Arms saw off AFC Piratez 6-2 and Trak Employment won 2-0 against The Rat Trap.
