IT was honours even at the annual Swindon School Sport Partnership tag rugby competition recently, with two schools sharing the trophy.
Catherine Wayte and Holy Rood played out a hard-fought final that finished 40-40 after extra-time at Isambard Community School.
The finalists had previously beaten Robert Le Kyng and Orchid Vale in the semis, and all four schools will progress to the Wiltshire finals at Warminster Rugby Club.
Festival co-ordinator Chris Glassock said: “The whole competition was played in excellent spirit and was a superb advert for the festival aims of enjoyment and fair play.
“There was an exciting level of skill and performance on show and we would like to wish all the schools the best of luck at the Wiltshire Youth Games.”
Tournaments and festivals such as this are representative of the School Sport Partnership’s aim to improve and increase the opportunities for schools to enjoy inter-school competition.
