TROWBRIDGE Town manager Chris Carr has cast doubt over his future at the club amid rumours that he is set be replaced at Woodmarsh.
Ralph McCaldon was appointed the club’s new chairman at Sunday’s AGM, stepping in to replace Paul Naylor, who temporarily held the position after Andy Mackinder stepped down in February this year.
Carr, 25, says he has heard the new chairman has already approached a candidate to replace him but will meet with McCaldon to discuss his future next weekend. “A lot of what I’ve heard has been rumours because I wasn’t at the meeting on Sunday to hear his (McCaldon’s) plans but I know that he’s approached someone to take over from me,” said Carr, who lives in the town.
“The chairman is on holiday at the moment, so I’ll have to wait and find out what he says at the meeting next weekend.
“When you put so much effort into the club, it’s not nice to hear these things. I took over at the start of last season after running the reserves and I wanted it to be a three or four year thing.
“I wanted to get the club back to where it wants to be and it’s also not fair on the players. As it stands, I’m still here but we’ll have to wait and see what happens at the next meeting.”
Carr watched his side humbled 6-0 at Bradford Town on Tuesday evening, with goals from Liam Milburn, Jake Hiscocks and four from Sam Jordan.
“It was a good attacking performance from us,” said Bradford boss Paul Shanley.
