KEN Turner says his Malmesbury Victoria players should hold their heads high, despite being dumped out of the FA Vase.
After taking the lead midway through the first-half, the hosts netted four times in the second period to see off Turner’s Vics, but the Malmesbury manager is refusing to get downbeat after the weekend’s defeat.
“It was what I was expecting because they’re a good side who are right at the top of the Premier Division,” said Turner.
“We had a few chances of our own and there’s absolutely no shame in the way we lost the game – I wish Kidlington all the best in the competition.
“It’s always nice to try and do well in the cups but the leauge and trying to get promotion is my priority.
“We’re still a young side and we should hold our heads high.”
Malmesbury are at home to Easington Sports in the league this weekend and new signing Tom Goody could be involved.
Winger Joe Dorey could also return to the squad but striker Mark Barnes is injured.
