THERE was a double win for home club rider Kay Webb at the first in the Kings Leaze Riding Club winter dressage series, staged at Elmleaze Stud, Didmarton.

The Chippenham rider and her long-time partner Gewnos Commander, now 14, headed both the Prelim 1 and Prelim 12 tests under judge Alistair Bull, beating clubmates Jasmine Punter and Claire Jackson into second.

Jackson went on to enjoy her turn in the winner’s circle in the Novice 27 test, where she beat Kay into second riding Morse.

The 10 year old is also successful in BE one day events, with two wins and several top ten placings to his credit.

The next dates in the series will be November 9 and December 5, again at Elmleaze Stud.

SAXON Dressage Group will be running their end of season Dressage Championships this Sunday (October 31) at West Wilts Equestrian Centre, Holt.

The group, celebrating their 25th anniversary this year, have been running regular dressage shows and qualifiers from June, at a range of local venues.

Qualifiers will be vying for a range of titles, covering Walk & Trot, Prelim, Novice, Elementary and Medium, at the unaffiliated competition.

Sponsors, who include Wadswick Country Store, Brantag Feed Services and Horse D’Hoofers, have provided a range of trophies, prizes and vouchers.
