MARLBOROUGH Ladies put a run of poor results behind them to get their promotion push back on track in West Clubs League Wessex Division One.

From the off it looked promising as Catherine Manley dribbled the ball straight through into the D to earn a short corner.

Alex Crosby-Jones calmly smashed the ball home within the first minute. Bath, deciding to play with no keeper and 11 outfield players, were vulnerable and Manley quickly scored a second after sharp passing between her and midfielder Ann Bromley.

Helen Lord grabbed three goals and Crosby-Jones scored again from a short corner and another from open play.

As the goals stacked up more of Marlborough’s midfield pushed the attack with Ness Pickford and Louise Griffiths also scoring.

Winger Phoebe Clarke also added to the score sheet.

Player of the match Ann Bromley scored a well-deserved goal with an impressive reverse stick strike, but Manley went on to score six more.

Marlborough remained third in the table.

Marlborough Ladies train on Thursday evenings 7.30-9am at Marlborough College astro. New players of all standards and experience welcome.
