MARLBOROUGH took their tally of goals scored against Swindon 2nd to 26 this season to move up to a point behind West Wilts in West Clubs Wessex Division One.

Alex Crosby-Jones opened the scoring within minutes when the ball was passed to her at the top of D and hammered it home.

Helen Lord scored soon after as she got on the end of a timely cross by midfielder Ann Bromley.

Marlborough continued to dominate the game, building each attack up from defence and through the midfield.

Left midfielder Penny Bowen added two more in quick succession.

Sweeper Helen Dobie took advantage of a passive defence to take the ball into the D and cleanly hit the ball into the far corner and winger Phoebe Clarke added another as she positioned herself for a cross and got a deft touch to guide the ball into the goal.

Crosby-Jones scored two more and Lord got her second to make it 10-0 at half time.

A change in formation at half time allowed the forwards more space and Catherine Manley added another, having got a crucial deflection on a lifted shot from Lord.

Player of the match Clarke scored again after latching on to Katie King’s pass and completed her hat-trick with a strike at the top of the D.

Crosby-Jones got her fifth goal from a superb reverse stick strike and midfielder Louise Griffiths scored as passing round the defence and up the left wing from Sarah Kendall opened up room.
