TROWBRIDGE sprinter Danny Talbot finished a creditable third in his heat and fifth overall in the men's 200m on his outdoor Great Britain debut at the SPAR European Team Cup in Stockholm yesterday.
Into a biting wing, the 20-year-old clocked 20.96 in heat behind France's Christophe Lemaitre, who defeated Britain's Dwain Chambers to win the 100m a day earlier, and Pavel Maslák, of the Czech Republic.
Lemaitre is expected to be Talbot's main rival when the two meet in the European U23 Championships next month in Ostrava.
Talbot said: "I learned a lot in tough conditions but am a bit disappointed with my run.''
