CHIPPENHAm surged into the top six of National Three South West with a powerful second-half display at Allington Field.
They opened the scoring on eight minutes, when Lewis Surry landed a penalty, but Oxford hit back with a converted tryfrom the restart.
A well-taken try by number eight Jamie Doubleday and Surry’s conversion, plus an Oxford penalty saw the scores all square at 10-10 at the interval.
Head coach Jason Forster’s half-time team talk did the trick as wing Fraser Clilverd touched down within a couple of minutes, Surry converting.
Centres Karl Brant and Gary Champion terrorised the Oxford defence and Doubleday went over for his second try, Brant converting.
Doubleday soon completed his hat-trick as Oxford wilted and replacement hooker Aaron Clark completed the scoring when he crossed for the fifth try.
