THE Minety pack proved too strong for visitors Midsomer Norton in a bruising Dorset & Wilts Three North encounter.

Minety opened their account with a penalty goal from fly-half Andy Edwards.

Under mounting pressure, Midsomer Norton conceded a penalty five metres out and aquick tap from scrum-half Andy Brown released prop Toby Edmonds to crash over, Edwards converting.

With the home pack dominant in the set piece, they were awarded a penalty try and Edwards again added the extras.

When the visiting full-back dropped a kick just in front of his own try line, Minety winger Luke Smith pounced to claim his team’s third try.

A try from flanker Jake Norman after good work by lock Ralph Wells and prop Steve Murray completed the half, with Edwards’ again converting.

The second half was scoreless.
