PROUD Wootton Bassett Town manager Dave Turner says his side deserve their plum trip to Conference South giants Dorchester Town after their FA Cup exploits so far this season.

Hellenic League Division One West Bassett have been rewarded for reaching second qualifying round for the first time with the south coast clash on September 22.

Turner’s men had already got past Calne Town and Hamworthy United before they ousted Premier Division rivals Highworth Town 3-1 last Friday.

“It’s our biggest game by an absolute country mile and I’m so happy to be manager of the side as this happens,” said Turner.

“I’ve seen their ground before and it’s a cracking stadium and it’s something that myself and the players won’t have ever experienced before.

“A tie against Chippenham or Salisbury would have been amazing because they’re right on our doorstep but this is a whole different level.

“It’s our reward for everything that we’ve done so far and the good thing is that when you go to these bigger clubs, they look after you properly and never look down their nose at you. I’m sure Dorchester will be no different.

“It’s probably going to be us going out in style – in football you never know what can happen – but it would take them having a massive off day.

“We’ll go and be as professional as we can and hopefully we’ll get some coaches on for people to watch too.”
