SWIMMING: Chippenham fourth in league finale

CHIPPENHAM Swimming Club finished fourth in the final round of the Wiltshire Summer League (Division One) at the Milton Road pool in Swindon.

Their swimmers placed first in three races – Tegan Cairns winning the U12 butterfly, Matthew Hardick the U12 breaststroke and the team of Daniel Branston, James Tucker, Matthew Hare and George Claverley the U16 freestyle relay.

There were personal bests for Amy Hall and John Branston in the 100m butterfly events, and Joe Bailey broke 60 seconds for the first time in the 100m freestyle.

James Wright, Michaela Sheppard and Ellis Bailey were all awarded blue caps in recognition of competing for the club in league gala for the first time.

Overall league positions: 1. Trowbridge 2. Swindon Dolphins 3. Tigersharks 4. Chippenham.
