RUGBY: MALMESBURY eased into the second round of the Dorset & Wilts 1st XV Plate after beating Wheatsheaf Cabin Crew 19-10.

The first score went to the visitors, with a penalty under the posts.

Sikele Ratu turned the score Malmesbury's way when he finished off a movement, started by William Frederick, which took the ball up the field to be touched down near the right touchline.

Vola kicked the conversion, giving Malmesbury a 7-3 lead.

Malmesbury went further ahead with a try on the left wing by Darran Price, but the visitors closed the gap with a converted try, leaving the half-time score at 12-10.

The second half saw Phillips score a third try for the home side, converted by Ratu.

Malmesbury travel to Supermarine 2nds on Saturday in Dorset & Wiltshire League 3 North.
