Three is the magic number

FOUR players hit hat-tricks as Greenmeadow Youth powered into the next round of the Under 10 League Cup with a 19-0 defeat of Avebury.

Rowan Doyle, Ellis Kerrigan Ritchie, Ben Cardus and Cyril Koomson all notched trebles for Greenmeadow, with Max Whitfield, Liam Davis and Thomas Lane claiming doubles and Jamie White rounding off the scoring in the comprehensive win.

Elsewhere in cup, Liden Community sealed their progression with a 6-2 victory against Croft Juniors.

Tom Ponting scored first for Liden, quickly followed by Sam Morse and, in the second period, both players found the net again to put Liden four goals up.

Croft responded though Oliver Reynolds only for Ashton Cobb to push Liden further ahead and Ponting seal the win with his third of the day. Reynolds grabbed a late consolation for Croft.

Highworth Town Juniors H recorded a 9-0 win against their fellow Highworth T team at the Rec, with goals from Daniel Warre (3), Liam Hares (3), Sebastian Goddard (2) and Freddie Merrett.

UNDER 9 LEAGUE CUP

CROFT made it through to the next round of the cup with an 11-0 victory over Purton.

Adam King, Alfie Burton and William Collis-Smith all netted hat-tricks for the visitors, while Tadhg O'Callaghan also scored.

A second-half fightback by Ferndale Rodbourne ensured safe passage into the next round with a 2-1 win over Swindon Supermarine.

Trailing 1-0 at half-time, Ferndale turned the game around with goals from Ollie Pickett and Joah Hall.

UNDER 11 LEAGUE CUP

JAKE Collis enjoyed the dream debut, scoring twice for Swindon Youth in a 5-0 win over Highworth Town Juniors J.

Ellis Wheeler put the game to bed with a second half hat-trick.

Calum Lansley led from the front as Ferndale Rodbourne Rovers overcame local rivals Ferndale Rodbourne Lions 6-1.

Lions started the brighter but Lansley’s hat-trick and goals from Jamain Holgate (2) and Michael Cleary gave Rovers a six-goal lead before Lions grabbed a consolation near the end.

UNDER 13 LEAGUE CUP

IN A match that twisted more often than a country lane, Shrivenham secured dramatic progress to the next round with a 5-4 victory over Greenmeadow Youth.

Lee Murphy opened the scoring for Greenmeadow before Shrivenham equalised. Charlie Britten made it 2-1 in Greenmeadow’s favour but again Shrivenham levelled.

Jack Trott restored Greenmeadow’s lead but Shrivvy raced ahead with two quick goals just before half-time.

Tyler Lewis forced the game into extra-time but it was Shrivenham that emerged winners.

Wroughton’s good form continued with a 15-2 win over Highworth Town Juniors.

Tyler Fitchett, John O’Donague, Al Moxham, Sam Roberts, Riegan Cook, Joel Ellis and Jo Marshall all got their names on the scoresheet for Wroughton.

Wootton Bassett Town Yellow twice led reigning holders Stanley Park Youth, with both goals from Tom Miller, but Stanley Park progressed to the next round with three second half goals in a 5-2 win.

UNDER 14 LEAGUE CUP

CROFT Juniors ensured their was no upset in their game against Blunsdon Colts, progressing into the quarter finals with a 2-0 victory.

Croft scored a goal in each half, courtesy of Harry Skinner and Conlan Mann, to secure their safe passage. Brinkworth Cats let a two-goal lead slip to exit the cup 6-3 at the hands of Liden Community A.

Martin Sinclair (2) and Cameron Delaney got Cats’ goals.

Shaw won a competitive encounter against Division One rivals Shrivenham & Watchfield 2-0. Owain Walton fired Shaw in front early on and Charan Chahal sealed the tie in the second half.

UNDER 12 DIVISION 1

A JAMES Davis double and a goal from Kyle Meader-Harris gave Ferndale YCFC a share of the points in a 3-3 draw against Liden Community.

Swindon Rangers A bounced back to winning ways with a 3-2 victory against Swindon Supermarine. Rangers had come back from a goal down to lead 2-1 courtesy of efforts from Toby Kutassy and Finley Merchant before Supermarine won a late penalty to level the game.

However, Joe Tyson popped up to drive in a last-minute winner for Rangers to secure the points.

UNDER 12 DIVISION 2

JOE Gleed scored Ferndale's only goal of the game in an 8-1 defeat to FC Abbey Meads.

UNDER 12 DIVISION 3

SAM Stokes inspired Ferndale Rodbourne Colts to the top of the table as he put in a man-of-the-match performance in their 3-2 win against Cirencester Town.

Two goals from Lewis Gardner and one from Dan O'Brien were enough to get victory.

UNDER 14 DIVISION 3

SEVENFIELDS United suffered their second league defeat of the season at the hands of Shaw Youth. Sevenfields started brightly and scored early on through Owen Lewis but Shaw drew level almost immediately before racing into a 5-1 lead.

After the break Sevenfields clawed two goals back through Aaron Marvell and Tom Prinzi but they eventually slipped to a 5-3 loss.

UNDER 15 DIVISION 1

BRINKWORTH Cats saw off Swindon Supermarine 5-3, with Danny Wykes, Alex Dinsmore, Nathan Groom, Aidan Thompson and Danny Murphy all on the scoresheet.

UNDER 15 DIVISION 2

Wanborough secured their second win of the season with a 2-1 victory at Brinkworth Cats B.

Luke Midwinter gave Wanborough the lead in the first half before Brinkworth equalised. A tight second half was decided by Fraser Gordon's strike for the visitors.
