SWINDON-BASED Kaine Collins has become the latest addition to the Okanagan Hockey Academy.
The 14-year old D-man joins the academy from the Swindon Wildcats junior setup and is aiming to improve his game beyond the limits of club level.
“I'm excited to be joining the academy and can't wait to get started,” he said.
“I want to be able to make the most of this opportunity and the coaching I will receive will enable me to make the most of my ability.
“I can't wait to become a more rounded player and it will be great to meet new people and work closely with them, making for a great close-knit team.”
Academy head coach Peter Russell said: "I am delighted to welcome Kaine to the academy programme for the coming season.
“He is a first-year under 16 defenceman, who has a huge love for the game.
“He is so enthusiastic about playing and he can't get enough of the sport and is going to show great development on his skills and game play through the next 10 months.
“He is a hard working lad and takes direction extremely well and I am really looking forward to seeing him improve in all areas.
“He is a lovely lad and is another good addition to our group for the coming season.”
The academy will run a two-day camp from October 25-26th at the Link Centre from 9am-3pm each day. For more information call 01973 886 857 or visit www.hockeyschools.co.uk.
