PEWSEY Vale manager Lewis Taylor says simple hard work has been the catalyst for his side’s imperious recent form.

Vale, who beat high-flying Brockenhurst 3-0 last week, demolished Andover New Street 8-0 last weekend before hitting the goal trail again with a 6-2 triumph at Fleet Spurs on Tuesday.

Pewsey sit fourth in the Wessex League Division One and Taylor is purring over their performances.

“The guys saw the standard they needed to play at in order to get results when we beat Brockenhurst and through a high level of application, they’ve managed to maintain that,” he said.

“If you work hard and pass the ball to the right areas, then you’ll score goals and win games.

“We’ve had a settled side and we’ve found a formula that works – things have really clicked for us.

“Our journey back from Fleet on Tuesday, with three points and a great performance, was really enjoyable.

“The thing you notice now you’re doing well is that people are getting in touch wanting to come and play for you and we may be making a few signings soon. It’s been fantastic to see and momentum is the key for us now.”
