SHELLEY Rudman was left counting the cost of her second run as she slipped out of the podium places at the second World Cup event of the season in Utah today.
Rudman, the reigning World Cup champion, was lying third after the opening run at the Park City complex, clocking 50.55 seconds as British teammate Lizzy Yarnold led.
However, as America's Katie Uhlaender overtook Yarnold to claim victory, Rudman could only manage the 10th fastest run second time around (50.95) to slip down a couple of places overall.
She said on Twitter: "Gutted. I was lying in third position, but in the second run I had a power skid out of Curve 14 and dropped to fift. At least everything is still moving in the right direction! My starts are getting faster.''
The 2006 Olympic silver medallist, 31, currently lies seventh overall after the opening two rounds.
