CONGRATULATIONS are in order for Chippenham Town’s 2012 chairman and captain John Lucas.

He was presented with the Denis Uncles Trophy for outstanding services to Wiltshire Bowls at the men’s annual dinner and presentation evening held at Melksham last Saturday.

Lucas had been the county competitions secretary for over a decade and done a sterling job but has decided to stand down for the 2013 campaign.

He was also deeply involved this year in helping to organise Chippenham Town’s centenary celebrations.

At the dinner Billy McCay, winner of the men’s county singles, received his trophy from outgoing president Colin Sheppard, while Dave Godwin and Paul Macdonald received the county men’s pairs championship trophy.
