THE Wiltshire Junior Cup has reached the quarter-final stages and the Trowbridge & District League has two surviving representatives.

Last season’s beaten finalists The Lamb and Castle Combe, conquerors of the much fancied Boomsburyin the last round, carry the flag for the league.

The Lamb have a juicy home tie with Salisbury League One outfit Chalke Valley - the visitors to Trowbridge accounted for first division Seend United in the last round but with Richard Stevens' side looking to make amends for last term's cup final loss, the hosts will no doubt raise their game and should deny their guests a second Trowbridge League scalp.

Castle Combe’s reward for their shock win over Boomsbury is a trip to Wiltshire League Division One side Ashton Keynes, who put out Westwood News in their previous game.

Combe will be hoping that they can repeat the form that saw them cause the upset of the competition to date when they beat Ben Howe’s side and should they pull another rabbit out of the hat, Paul Sanderson’s side will have a chance of keeping their dreams of lifting the cup very much alive.
