WILTSHIRE slider Shelley Rudman was attempting to shake off the effects of a chest infection ahead of the resumption of the FIBT World Cup series in Germany this weekend.
The Pewsey competitor, who has one round victory to her name this season, was ill over the Christmas period but was due to resume her campaign in Altenberg tomorrow.
Rudman, who was a silver medallist at the 2006 Winter Olympics, has been using the World Cup campaign to lay the foundations for Olympic gold in Sochi in 2014.
She said: “Before I won the race people asked me if I was disappointed with my results this season.
“But everything is going exactly to plan. I am making lots of adjustments with a view to getting it just right for Sochi.’’
